Just one photo and one story (except there are two photos)

I have been invited by Connie of BasildonKitchen to join the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge: “Post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or a short paragraph and each day nominate another blogger for the challenge”. I met Connie on facebook a few years ago. We belong to a photo a day group on facebook and her photos are wonderful!

#1 - Spring in Nova Scotia
I live in a nice little town in central Nova Scotia. My husband and I decided to retire here 7 years ago and bought a lot, sight unseen, the year before we retired. Then we put our house on the market in Ottawa, packed up our little trailer and travelled down here to wait while our new home was being built.

We have enjoyed our time in Nova Scotia, spending quite a bit of our summer time in our sunporch. THIS year, in the winter, we had a bit of snow. Barry and I went cross country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking in the snow. In mid March however, things started to get silly, weatherwise. On March 18th - we had another 'bit' of snow. I took this picture on the 19th of March.

Beginning near the end of March, I have taken a picture each day of the snow receding. This morning, April 18th, I took this picture, which I include for the purpose of contrast.
The snow is not quite gone, but we surely are enjoying spring time in Nova Scotia this year!

Today I would like to challenge my quilting friend Irene.  She is off having an adventure right now and may now be able to start this right away!  Irene blogs over at Quilterosity.  Check it out!
Until next time, Jane
